The Commissioner for Health, Taraba State, Hon. Dr. Bordiya Gbansheya Buma (MBBS, FWACS), JP, today flagged off the Kefas Care Free Medical and Surgical Outreach in Gassol Local Government Area. The five-day outreach is part of the Taraba State Government’s commitment under the leadership of His Excellency, Dr. Agbu Kefas, to improve access to quality healthcare and promote the health and well-being of Tarabans. The initiative is being implemented across the 16 Local Government Areas of the state, bringing free medical consultations, screenings, treatment and surgical services closer to the people, particularly those who may face challenges accessing healthcare due to financial or geographical constraints. Speaking at the flag-off, Dr. Buma encouraged residents of Gassol LGA and surrounding communities to take full advantage of the opportunity and access the free services provided throughout the five-day exercise. The Commissioner reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to supporting the administration’s vision of building a healthier Taraba where every citizen has access to quality and affordable healthcare.
